What do you think when you heard about “Seminyak”? Most people will answer Seminyak is more sophisticated, private, and luxurious tourism destination than Kuta. But let’s forget about all Seminyak’s images for a while because we will explore a new shopping center in Seminyak, which well known as Seminyak Square.

 

Seminyak Square opened in 2009. This new shopping center located in Oberoi Street, Seminyak. This place provides free parking for bicycles, motorbikes and cars.

Seminyak Square has been designed in modern architecture; but don’t imagine that we will be in crowded and bored shopping center. We also can feel the ambience of Bali here. Seminyak Square is very suitable to escape from Kuta’s entire clamor.

Balinese handicraft and clothes from traditional until branded ones are sold in Seminyak Square. Don’t worry about the price, because price for goods in Seminyak Square is cheaper than shopping in Kuta. If you like to collect the antiquate goods; some store in Seminyak Square also sold this goods.

And for music lover, don’t forget to update your knowledge about music in OZ radio. OZ Radio is the biggest radio station from Bandung (West Java) which broadcasting in Bali too. OZ Radio located in 2nd floor of Seminyak Square. OZ radio also cooperation with Black Canyon Coffee Seminyak Square to create a party or event every week.

Just come to Seminyak Square’s Sunday Market from 9am-5pm. And just for info, Seminyak Square’s Sunday Market is also available on Saturday from 10.00am – 10.00pm with live jazz at the same place.

In fact, there are several booths in Seminyak Square’s Sunday market which are providing much kind of gifts for their customer. One of them provides “Wheel of Fortune”, so if you are lucky enough you will get a free t-shirt. Otherwise, you will get some cute lollipops and stickers. When you shop in Seminyak Square’s Sunday Market, don’t forget to bring your own shopping bag to support B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Bag) Campaign. Most stands here have done this program. This is a must program, if you still want to live in this pretty world.

Coca Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour 2010

Coca Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) Tour 2010 has been launched by Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI) in Legian Beach, Bali on 31st of March. Member of surfing communities, regional government, surfing industry partners, and media partners from Bali and Jakarta are present there.

The Indonesian surfers have great potential but they lack of support to develop into professional surfers. ISC Tour can help surfers to develop and proof themselves to national and international spectators. CCAI is not just give support for professional surfers, but also have program to make beaches in Bali better.

In order to implement Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability programs, CCAI programs work on four key areas that are Environment, Marketplace, Workplace, and Community. CCAI together with Quiksilver have  given support to local community with the programs like Bali Beach Clean-Up, Kuta Sea Turtle Conservation, ISC Tour Sponsor, Eco-Education Mobile and Water For Life. CCAI make an effort to make Bali become an environment friendly tourism destination.

This year, ISC Coca Cola Tour will be started by Oakley Pro 2010 6-star. Its championship will be held in Canggu Beach Bali on 1st until 10th of April. Then, tour will be held by Rusty Rumble in Da Jungle 6-star in Sanur Beach from 26th April until 16th of May, which will be continued by The 6-star Reef Bali Pro in Padma Beach. Afterwards, this championship moves to Padang Padang, sponsored by The Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang from 27th July until 25th of August. The next championship will be held by The Rip Curl Surf Music Festival in Kuta Bali Beach on 24th October, and ISC 2010 Tour will be closed by The 6-star prime Quiksilver open in Keramas Bali Beach on 1st until 6th November.

Other than holding professional title events, Coca-Cola ISC Tour also give support to Junior Surfer and Pro Junior Surfer in Championship series like Rusty GromFest, Rip Curl GromSearch, Quiksilver’s King of The Groms dan Oakley Pro Junior. Pro events also include Woman Division, Pro Junior, Master and Longboarding Division.

ISC Tour purposes are to provide facilities for surfing competition to raise standard performance of Indonesian surfers and to develop national surfing championship in order to be admitted by international surfing communities.  But the main purpose is to develop surfing sport in Indonesia into professional one.
