Strategically located within walking distance of the famous restaurants at Echo Beach in Bali’s sort after district of Canggu; Puri Temple is a contemporary designed, chic 3 bedroom villa. A puri is a small Balinese palace; Puri Temple reflects the near proximity to a quaint Hindu temple overlooked from the villas large first floor balcony. Here from the comfort of a lounge/dining area (sits 8) shaded under a traditional balé (gazebo) guests can also enjoy views of the pool and tropical garden below. On an evening you can hear the distant sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. 

With an open air bar/kitchen adjacent to the balcony this is a great spot to indulge in drinks and barbeques whilst enjoying the audacious sunsets over Bali’s west coast. Inside on the first floor one finds the TV room; complete with flat screen TV/DVD player, satellite channels and lounging for 6 people. Next door a large open room houses the 9’ American pool table – the perfect party room with tasteful artwork, a high table and bar stools, plus iPod docking and CD player. A private balcony with rattan easy chairs runs in front of the master bedroom. Sliding glass doors lead into this well furnished bedroom with queen sized bed and a large walk through wardrobe with safe. Like all the rooms in this villa the master bedroom enjoys both air conditioning and ceiling fans, plus an attractive ensuite complete with bathtub, standing power shower and granite vanity unit. 

The large ‘L’ shaped ground floor structure hugs an ‘L’ shaped swimming pool with a whirlpool feature. Attractive white palimanan stone surrounds the pool, whilst pool toys are provided including a volleyball net. All-weather rattan lounges provide both shaded and sunbathing spots where guests can laze their days away being served by their personal butler. Two guest bedrooms look onto the pool and garden area; one with twin beds and ensuite, the other with a queen sized bed and lush outdoor bathroom. Both have walk through wardrobes and safety deposit boxes. Also looking out over the pool and garden is a large room housing a modern and well equipped kitchen, plus comfortable lounge and dining areas which can be closed off with concertina sliding glass doors and air conditioned or opened onto the garden encompassing the best in tropical living design. The impressive solid wood dining table sits 8 beside a wall unit displaying artefacts from Bali and the wider Indonesian archipelago, plus a book and CD collection and stereo unit with iPod docking. 

The service at Puri Temple is exemplary, the charmingly Balinese house keeper and butler will shop for you and look after guests every need, whilst a chef cooks delicious organic meals from a suggestion menu (provisions on guest account) and can also arrange personal detox programs. All the staff speak English, whilst a western manager lives nearby who welcomes guests on arrival and is on hand should they be needed. There is also security at the villa at night and a maid’s bedroom. If required the resident butler can arrange a car and driver for guests and can recommend a variety of activities including a water park, rafting, golf, horse riding, surfing lessons, helicopter flights, diving, yoga, massage, spa treatments, or simply a trip to the shops, beach, temple or rice fields. 

Two extra bedrooms are located in small villas next door at Puri Temple 2 (there is a connecting door from the main villa). These villas boast their own kitchen units, lounge and dining areas, as well as attractive open air ensuites and a shared 8 metre swimming pool. Puri Temple is located within 20 minutes drive from both the popular shopping, restaurant and nightlife district of Seminyak and the Nirwana Golf Course. Voted the best in Asia this course enjoys spectacular views of Tanah Lot temple – built on a rock stack out at sea this temple is dedicated to the sea spirits and is one of the most picturesque sights in Bali.

THE VILLAS

Villa Puri temple is a 3 bedroom villa with two extra guest rooms on request, plus a maid’s bedroom. A 10 x 4 metre L shaped swimming pool takes centre stage, surrounded by a white stone walkway which leads from the parking area first to a large lounge/dining room, then onto two guest bedrooms. All the ground floor rooms have sliding glass doors opening onto the pool and garden area, air conditioning and fans. 

The long open plan main room houses a solid teak dining table with 8 banana leaf dining chairs. A wall unit runs the length of the dining table displaying artefacts from South East Asia, books and a stereo unit with iPod docking. Matching the dining chairs a banana leaf L shaped sofa provides comfortable lounging looking out over the pool at the stone statues and frangipani trees in the garden. Four black/chrome bar stools flank a granite bar leading into a modern and well equipped kitchen. 

Quality Duvets, pillows and scatter cushions adorn the twin beds in the first guest room and the queen sized bed in the second. Both rooms have teak side and dressing tables, walk through wardrobes, safety deposit boxes and en suites; the en suite in the queen room is open air with its own garden – totally private you can take a shower under the stars. 

Upstairs the master bedroom enjoys a private balcony with easy chairs overlooking the garden and pool. A queen sized bed stands against a dividing wall across the centre of the room hiding a large walk in wardrobe and dressing area behind. A power shower, vanity and toilet are found in the connecting bathroom, as is the case with the en suites of the two guest bedrooms, however the master en suite boasts a bath tub also. 

A 9’ American pool table stands proud in the centre of the main first floor room, accompanied by a teak bar table with stools and an iPod docking system. Leading off this first floor hub is a TV room (flat screen TV/DVD & lounging for 6 people) and a bar (fridge & 2 bar stools) leading onto a large balcony. A gazebo sits 8 for dining on the balcony beside the barbeque.
